MOESIA INFERIOR, Marcianopolis. Philip II. As Caesar, AD 244-247. Æ Pentassarion (27mm, 12.40 g, 1h). Prastinus Messalinus, legatus consularis. Bareheaded, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip II right, facing draped bust of Serapis left, wearing calathus / Hermes leaning to left, with right foot on ram's head, looking right, drapery on knee; overturned jug below, E (mark of value) and tree stump to right. H&J 6.44.10.3 (R5); Varbanov 2107 (R5). VF, dark green patina. Scarce and artistic type.
